Pedestrian dies after being struck by tram in Dublin

Police are appealing for witnesses

A man in his 50s has died after being struck by a tram in Dublin.

Gardaí (Irish police) said the collision occurred at Broombridge in Cabra shortly after 01:00 local time on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place.

A technical examination of the scene has been completed by forensic investigators.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or road users who may have video footage.
