Stolen goods worth thousands seized from shop

Stolen goods worth thousands of pounds have been recovered from a shop in Coventry after a police operation.
Officers working with Trading Standards visited the shop in the Foleshill area of the city after receiving intelligence suggesting stolen items were being stored and sold there.
The team carried out a warrant at the premises on 13 May, finding a large amount of stolen coffee, deodorant, medicine, chocolate and washing powder.
The total amount in goods was thought to be between £4,000 and £5,000.
The items are all thought to have been stolen from a number of shops in the city before being sold to the store at a later date.
A 50-year-old man would be voluntarily interviewed in due course while police inquiries continued, West Midlands Police said.
A force spokesperson explained: "We fully understand the impact and frustration of shoplifting on businesses of all sizes, it's a crime which can affect livelihoods.
"We routinely carry out regular high visibility patrols in retail areas, along with other activity, to trace and catch offenders."
