A school in Wolverhampton is celebrating after receiving an outstanding Ofsted rating.

Christ Church Infant School, Tettenhall Wood, was described in a report, external as a school that is inclusive for all children and has staff who are "determined to give pupils the best start in life".

Lead inspector Eve Morris, said students had "overwhelmingly positive attitudes to learning" and "thrived" at the school.

She added that children developed strong relationships with adults and the "ambitious curriculum" ensured they were prepared for future learning.

Pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) were "incredibly well-supported by well-trained staff" and made excellent progress.

"At this school, no child is excluded, and all are encouraged to find their individual gifts and talents," the report added.

Executive head teacher Sarah Blower said it was a privilege to work at the school and thanked those who contributed to provide the best education.

"I am proud of all the pupils and staff who make Christ Church a welcoming and special place," she added.

The school was previously rated good in March last year.

More than 90% of schools in Wolverhampton are now either rated Good or Outstanding, City of Wolverhampton Council says.
