Third cliff fall near planned flat development
- Published
A third large cliff fall in five months has been reported close to the site of a proposed flat development in Cornwall.
The Save Whipsiderry Cliff group said the incident happened at the beach near Newquay at about 08:40 BST on Saturday.
The cliffs have been affected by other falls in recent months, including incidents in November and December.
Developer Living Quarter Properties has permission to build seven homes on land along the cliff.
Last year, preliminary work to reinforce the cliff was stopped after campaigners raised concerns.
Following the cliff fall in November, Cornwall Council closed off a set of steps leading to the beach.
