The office that helps patients arrange transfers to the UK for hospital appointments and treatment, is moving location.

The Isle of Man Patient Transfer team are relocating from Crookall House to Garaghyn Glass on the Noble's Hospital site in Braddan.

Manx Care said the counter based in Douglas was "no longer suitable" and the building was undergoing refurbishment.

The team is set to be fully operational in its new home from 1 March.

The new location at Garaghyn Glass, while on the Noble's site, is a separate building to the hospital.

Access

Being so close to the Noble's would "benefit" the team by being close to clinicians and "more direct" access for patients attending the hospital, a spokeswoman said.

The existing office will remain open for urgent enquiries, and Manx Care has asked people with any non-urgent requests to wait to get in touch until 4 March.

The healthcare body said the move "only affects those who attend in person to meet with the team".

Opening hours, from 09:00 to 17:00 GMT Monday to Friday, would remain the same, it said.
