Thirteen birds found shot dead in woodland

Thirteen birds found dead in woodland were shot illegally, police said they believed.
Suffolk Police is investigating after the birds, including four gulls, were found in Butley, near Woodbridge, on Tuesday.
X-rays showed that one of the gulls was shot in the head and neck consistent with being targeted with a shotgun, police said.
None of the birds were birds of prey, but all the animals were protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the force said.
Anyone with information was asked to contact Suffolk Police quoting crime reference 37/17999/24.
