Wolves arrive in US for pre-season tour

The Wolverhampton Wanderers squad has arrived in Florida for the side's first US tour in 43 years.

The club is taking part in the Stateside Cup competition against other English sides, and also faces a match against RB Leipzig from the German Bundesliga.

The matches will be played in Florida and Maryland, with pre-season training in between.

New signing Rodrigo Gomes said: "The pitches are amazing and we’re improving our football and our friendships, and that’s good."

The Stateside Cup, external will showcase Premier League football in the US, with Wolves facing West Ham in Jacksonville on Saturday, before taking on Crystal Palace on Wednesday in Annapolis.

The two London sides complete the tournament in Tampa on 3 August, the same day as Wolves face their German opponents in Fort Lauderdale.
