Power cut causes disruption at hospital

A power cut led to disruption at Swindon's hospital, including at A&E and the urgent treatment centre.
Health leaders at Great Western Hospital asked patients with planned appointments not to attend due to it not being possible to operate machinery such as MRI scanners and x-ray equipment at about 15:00 BST on Tuesday.
Power was restored by about 20:30 but health officials have warned patients to expect urgent and emergency care services to be very busy in the coming days
A hospital spokesperson said patients are advised to attend appointments as planned on Wednesday "unless contacted and told otherwise".
They added: "There will be some disruption to our services in the coming days and we are working hard to minimise the impact on patients.
"We apologise to all patients and families affected by this incident.
"A big thank you to all our incredible staff and volunteers who have gone above and beyond to continue to provide treatment and care for patients."
Visitors can now attend the hospital as normal.
