A man from Doncaster has been arrested following a police chase involving a JCB road roller in North Yorkshire.

Police were called to a suspected burglary at an industrial address in the Selby area at about 21:50 BST on Thursday.

After searching for suspects, officers pursued a 4x4 vehicle, which was towing a stolen road roller on a trailer, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said.

Two stolen vehicles were recovered following the chase, the spokesperson added.

Officers said the driver, a man in his 20s, "tried to make off on foot", but was caught and arrested after being tracked by a police dog.

The 4x4 involved was believed to have been stolen from the Midlands, police added.
