Guernsey Police have appealed for help in their search for James Giles, who was reported missing at 06.55 BST on Tuesday.
Mr Giles was last seen leaving his address in Rue De Bouverie, the Castel, and since then there have been no confirmed sightings, Guernsey Police said.
Det Sgt Andy Telford said: "Officers have conducted a number of searches across the island, carried out CCTV inquiries and have spoken to a number of potential witnesses."
He said: "We continue to actively search around his home address and at a number of other locations."
Det Sgt Telford said "the search was escalated to detectives in the Public Protection Unit" on Tuesday evening.
He said Mr Giles may have left his property wearing a blue raincoat with a Sky TV logo on the front but this had not been confirmed.
