Motorcyclist dies after collision with a lorry

A 33-year-old motorcyclist has died after a collision with a lorry.

South Yorkshire Police said the incident happened on Hoober Lane in Rotherham at around 09:30 BST on Tuesday when the male rider's motorbike, a black Honda Fireblade, collided with a white Volvo HGV.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended but the motorcyclist died at the scene, police said.

His family are being supported by police officers.

The HGV driver remained at the scene to assist officers with enquiries.

Hoober Lane was closed while emergency services conducted their work, but has since re-opened.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage should contact the force on 101, police said.
