Eighth teenager charged after city disturbance

An eighth teenager has now been charged with offences connected to disorder on a city seafront.
The charges relate to violence in Southend-on-Sea on Tuesday.
Essex Police said a 16-year-old boy from Basildon had been charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and violent disorder.
The other seven teenagers - aged between 14 and 18 - are charged with offences including attempted murder, violent disorder, wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
All eight accused are expected to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court later.
