Ports of Jersey appoints new board chairman
- Published
A new chairman has been appointed to the Ports of Jersey board.
Geoffrey Spence will take over the role following the resignation of Mark Chown last year.
Mr Spence had been on the board since 2018, after spending several years in various senior positions within investment banking.
Prior to his appointment, the chairman role was being occupied on a temporary basis by Jeffrey Hume.
'Delighted'
Ports of Jersey's chief executive, Matt Thomas, thanked him for standing in and added: "I’m delighted that Geoffrey Spence has been appointed to the substantive position and I look forward to working with him to continue the development of Ports of Jersey.”
Mr Spence advised the UK Government and public sector on the commercial and financing aspects, and was a special advisor to the chancellor of the exchequer’s advisor on business and EU policy.
