Police in Guernsey are holding a recruitment event for people interested in joining the force.

The event has been organised by Guernsey Police between 10:00 BST and 14:00 on 22 June in Market Square, St Peter Port, as part of its summer recruitment campaign.

During the event, police said officers will be present to speak to anyone interested in joining the force.

Guernsey Police added members of its dogs section, tactical firearms unit, road policing team and bomb disposal unit will be doing demonstrations of their work at the event.

Ch Insp Liam Johnson said: "Our specialist officers will be conducting demonstrations throughout the day, highlighting the different work and tactics we use on the frontline of policing to keep the island safe."

He added: "The community is really important to all of us at Guernsey Police and we're looking forward to meeting people and talking to them about the work the organisation does."
