A nursery that was destroyed in a large fire has found a new home.

Wibli Wobli Nursery will share a premises in Cleppa Park industrial Estate in Newport with Dharma Mandir, the city's only Hindu temple.

The owner of the nursery, Natasha Baker, said she hopes it is up and running on the new site by the beginning of summer.

Its earlier site on the Wern Industrial Estate near Newport was wrecked in the fire in January.

"It's a lovely open building but a lot of work is needed to make sure that it is suitable for us - just like we did in Wern House," said Ms Baker.

About 60 children attended the nursery at its original site.

It was adjacent to Tiny Rebel Brewery, from where customers had to be evacuated when the fire broke out.

More than 75 firefighters and tactical officers were in attendance at the height of the blaze, with flames shooting into the air well above the building.

The nursery had opened only the previous April, and it said at the time that it was "absolutely heartbroken".

Ms Baker said the new premises were in "a lovely open building, but a lot of work is needed to make sure that it is suitable for us - just like we did in Wern House

"It's an opportunity for the business to grow.

"We will be able to take in nearly 70 children instead of 40

"For the first time we will be able to care for children under the age of two, something that is not possible anywhere else in Newport through the medium of Welsh."
