Two arrests in illegal money lending operation

Two people have been arrested following an operation targeting illegal money lending in south-west Scotland.

Officers from the Scottish Illegal Money Lending Unit (SIMLU) - working with partner agencies - searched three properties in Stranraer, Kirkcolm and Cairnryan.

It said that two men - aged 47 and 31 - had subsequently been arrested.

It added that a report would now be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
