Attempted murder charge after stabbing outside pub

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a stabbing outside a pub.

A 27-year-old man was stabbed outside the Nags Head pub in Station Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, at about 01:00 BST on Sunday.

He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre and his condition is critical but stable, Nottinghamshire Police said.

A 40-year-old man, from Kirkby-in-Ashfield, has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and assault by beating.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and has been remanded in custody.

He will appear in court again on 21 November.
