The teenage victim is being treated in hospital, police said

A 16-year-old boy from Birmingham has been charged with attempted murder after a second boy was wounded with a machete.

The victim, who is also 16, was found with a serious injury to the arm after disorder in Belchers Lane in the city on 17 May, police said.

He is being treated in hospital and remains in a stable condition, officers added.

West Midlands Police have also charged the teenager with possession of a bladed article.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear before Birmingham Youth Court on Tuesday.
