Annual charity motor show returns to city

The festival features vintage and modern cars

A popular motor show will return to Bath this weekend.

The Rotary Festival of Motoring, involving more than 500 cars and motorbikes from different eras, will be held at Walcot Rugby Ground on the outskirts of the city.

The city's Rotary Club is a member of Rotary International, which sets up and provides humanitarian service around the world.

This year, the proceeds from the festival will be donated to The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and St Mungo's.

Vintage Jaguars are among the cars that have been on show at previous festivals

Since it was first held in 1992, the festival has been supporting various local charities.

It began by raising funds for powered wheelchairs for children, with a total of £250,000 being donated.

Vintage motorbikes will also feature at the festival

More recently, Time2Share - which offers services and group activities to young disabled people and their families - and Freewheelers EVS - a voluntary courier service which transports blood and essential medical supplies - have been supported by the festival.

The 2023 event raised £40,000, and organisers say they hope to match that this year.
