A school in Somerset has retained it's "Good" rating by Ofsted.

Haygrove School in Bridgwater was found to provide a good quality of education, and was marked as encouraging good behaviour, good personal development, and possessing outstanding leadership.

The school learned in December its main building was unsafe due to faulty construction. It is currently using temporary classrooms for lessons.

The report found that "everyone wants the very best for pupils" at the school.

"The school’s unwavering focus on providing pupils with a high-quality education sits behind the decisions that leaders make for everyone to succeed," the report continued.

"Even when facing the significant challenge of the main school building being deemed unsafe, this has remained the school’s priority."

Ofsted found that pupils "feel safe" in the school and know how to report any concerns they may have.

"[Pupils] behave well in lessons and during social times. There is a strong pastoral system that supports pupils’ well-being. The school does not tolerate bullying," the report said.

"The school is ambitious for all pupils to learn effectively. In recent years, the school has considerably strengthened the curriculum across a broad range of subjects.

"As a result, an increasing number of pupils achieve well."

At the start of the year, 21 new classrooms, a catering hall and other rooms were installed in temporary buildings at Haygrove.
