A woman has been charged 15 months after a man was killed in a crash.

Truman Hub, 22, from North Shields, died after the car he was in hit a lamppost on the A191 at New York, North Tyneside, on 20 November 2022.

Another passenger was left seriously injured, Northumbria Police said.

A 23-year-old woman from Whitley Bay, who was arrested as part of the investigation at the time, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

She is due to appear before magistrates in North Tyneside on 5 March.

Sgt Dave Roberts said: “We remain in contact with Truman’s family and loved ones and continue to offer them any support they need.

“The last 15 months have been incredibly difficult for them and we ask that their privacy is respected.”
