Two more teenage boys have been charged in connection with the assault of an American tourist in Dublin.

Stephen Termini, 57, from Buffalo, New York, is believed to have been kicked and beaten on Dublin's Store Street on 19 July.

He remains in a serious but stable condition in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

The teenagers, aged 15 and 16, appeared separately with a parent before the Children's Court on Thursday, charged with assault causing harm.

They were remanded on continuing bail.

A 14-year-old boy, who was charged on Sunday with assault causing harm, appeared before the Children's Court with his father on Thursday.

He was also remanded on continuing bail.

The 15 and 16-year-olds were told they must obey a curfew from 21:00 BST to 07:00 and must not associate with the co-defendants.

They were also ordered to stay away from a number of streets and surrounding areas in the north inner city of Dublin.

Legal aid was granted and the three boys will return to court again on 5 October.

In the wake of the attack on Mr Termini the US Embassy in Dublin issued a security alert to its citizens in the Republic of Ireland.

It encouraged all Americans to be aware of their surroundings when travelling in unfamiliar or crowded locations and empty streets, and to avoid walking alone.
