Theatre to put on shows in care homes for free

A theatre is set to stage shows in West Midlands care homes for free.

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre will be putting on 10 shows at residential homes, between January and June 2024.

The performances will be an hour long and feature live entertainment from musician Carl McGregor and local artist Sofie Anné.

Care homes must complete an application form on the theatre's website to be considered for a performance.

The theatre said it wanted to positively affect everyone in the community by offering the service.

"We also recognise that not everyone can make it to the theatre, so we go to them," it added.

Artist Sofie Anné, also known as Sophie Clayton, was raised in Wolverhampton , externaland has made several TV appearances on BBC Songs of Praise.

Carl McGregor has been a professional musician for 40 years and has worked with artists like Sir Cliff Richard and Beverley Knight.
