Teenager dies after single-vehicle crash

A man in his late teens has died after a single-vehicle collision in County Sligo, gardaí (Irish police) have said.

He died at the scene after the SUV he was driving veered off the N17 road in Ballinacarrow at about 20:15 local time on Thursday.

An adult male passenger was assessed at the scene but did not require immediate hospital treatment.

The road is currently closed to traffic with diversions in place.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage from the collision to contact them.
