Grants of £5,000 available to enhance wellbeing

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to help Jersey residents take part in artistic and physical activities.

Organisers said the Connect Me, external grants aimed to "prevent loneliness", "promote a sense of connection" and "enhance both physical health and overall wellbeing".

The grants, funded by the States of Jersey, are intended to support projects that increase islanders' participation in the arts or physical activity.

Applications must be made online, external and the deadline is 18 April.

The aim of the grants is also to help the island's creative economy grow.

A spokesperson for the Connect Me scheme said: "We have kept the application criteria as open as possible to receive a wide range of creative project proposals."

Organisers added applications would be assessed by an independent panel.
