More than 1,000 cannabis plants have been discovered at an industrial unit in Wolverhampton.

Officers raided the building on Colliery Road on Wednesday evening and found that the power supply had been bypassed with potentially dangerous electrical wiring.

Electrical equipment as well as irrigation and ventilation systems were also found inside and would be destroyed, West Midlands Police said.

A 56-year-old man was arrested at the property on suspicion of producing cannabis and abstracting electricity.
