A man has been charged with the murder of a father of two who was stabbed in east London.

Josh McKay, 33, died at the scene of the stabbing on Lea Bridge Road in Leyton on Saturday afternoon.

Renai Belle, 29, from Edmonton in north London, is due to appear before Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court later. He is also accused of unlawful possession of a knife.

In a statement, Mr McKay's family said: “The heart of our family has stopped beating. The world is less brighter without his beautiful smile.”

A 38-year-old woman who was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed pending further inquiries.
