Man charged with rape of woman near park

A man has been charged with the rape of a woman near a park in Kent.
Police were called after a woman in her 20s reported that she had been raped by a man in the Marlborough Road area of Gillingham at 05:45 BST on Thursday.
A 25-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with rape, police said.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court next month.
Kent Police are keen to talk to anyone who was in the area between midnight and 06:00 on Thursday.
Anybody with dashcam footage or residents with CCTV or doorbell footage are also urged to contact police.
