Man in critical condition after festival stabbing

A man has been left in a critical condition after being stabbed during a festival.

Thames Valley Police said it was investigating an incident at the Reggae Land festival in Milton Keynes on Sunday night.

At about 20:50 BST the force was informed a man had been assaulted in the main arena of the National Bowl.

The man was taken to hospital with stab wounds but the police believed there was "no risk to festivalgoers or to the wider public".

"Working very closely with the event organisers and their security team, we are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident," a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said on social media., external

"We have already taken a number of statements from witnesses, we will be carrying out forensic examinations as well as CCTV enquiries."
