A cow has died from smoke inhalation following a suspected arson attack in Barnsley, police have said.

A fire broke out on a field on Storrs Mill Lane in the Cudworth area at about 15:45 BST on 13 August.

The blaze spread to a nearby field, where the cow was found dead and more than £50,000 worth of damage was caused.

South Yorkshire Police has asked anyone with information about the incident to contact officers.
