Four men and a teenager have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder which took place outside a Birmingham pub.

Two men aged 23, a 28-year-old, a man aged 22 and a 16-year-old boy were taken into custody on Friday morning.

Their arrest follows disorder outside The Clumsy Swan in Stoney Lane, Yardley, on Monday evening.

Another was detained over a disturbance in Solihull on Sunday.

The 38-year-old man is being held on suspicion of violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker in Solihull on Sunday night.

A glass was thrown at an officer in Damson Lane as the force responded to a large gathering in the area, it said.

The officer was not injured and "neither was anybody else as people dispersed", police added.

Ch Supt Richard North of West Midlands Police said the force continued "to work hard to arrest others".

He added: "We want to reassure you that anyone participating in any criminality on our streets will be dealt with robustly."
