A man from Woking who subjected a woman to "horrific" abuse has been jailed for more than four years.

Thomas Harris, 30, was arrested after police were called to a hotel in Woking where they found the victim with injuries after Harris had made threats to kill her, Surrey Police said.

Det Con Charlotte Oliver said: “The extent of Harris’ behaviour towards his victim was horrific."

He was sentenced at Chichester Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm.

Officers praised the victim for showing bravery after Harris tried to scare her into silence.

The victim said her "short relationship" with Harris had a "massive impact" on her life.
