Two arrests after man 'chased and assaulted'

Two men have been arrested after an assault left a man with "serious" injuries.

Emergency services were called to St Nicholas Circle in Leicester at about 21:00 GMT on Sunday to reports a man had been found injured.

The man, who was taken from the scene to hospital, had been "chased and assaulted", said Leicestershire Police.

On Monday, two men aged 48 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police said they remain in custody and inquiries are continuing.
