Driver denies causing death of cyclist

A man has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of a cyclist in a crash in Leeds.
Graham Johnson died in hospital on 25 July last year after earlier being involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall Insignia which was being driven on Easterly Road in Leeds.
Appearing at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, Darren Jarrett pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving without due care and consideration while unfit through drug.
Mr Jarrett, 47, of Amber Gardens, Gipton, was released on bail and is due to go on trial at Leeds Crown Court on 27 March 2028.
