A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in Leeds city centre.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was attacked on Great Wilson Street in the early hours of 18 December, after being followed from nearby Call Lane, West Yorkshire Police said.

The force said the woman, who was walking home from a night out, had been assaulted at a bus stop next to Asda House.

Appealing for anyone with any information about the attack to come forward, police said the 27-year-old man remained in custody.
