A police constable already suspended over a drink-driving charge has been given a community order after being again arrested for the same offence.
Nottinghamshire Police said Jakub Lewandowski, 23, was arrested and charged after failing a breathalyser test in August, in Wollaton Road, Nottingham.
He was on bail ahead of court proceedings when he again failed a breathalyser test on Friday in Tunnicliffe Close, Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on the same day and after admitting both counts of drink-driving, was sentenced to a community order, which includes 140 hours of unpaid work, and was disqualified from driving for three years.
Lewandowski, of Wood Street in Ilkeston, must also comply with a 45-day alcohol abstinence requirement.
The first time he was stopped, in the early hours of 31 August, Lewandowski blew 90 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath - compared to a legal limit of 35 micrograms, police said.
In the second offence, he blew 82 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
Nottinghamshire Police's Deputy Chief Constable Rob Griffin said: "We understand the concern this matter will cause local communities. The officer remains suspended and will now be the subject of our own internal misconduct proceedings."
