Cyclist dies after hitting wall in national park

A cyclist has died after colliding with a wall while out riding on Exmoor.

Avon and Somerset Police responded to calls on 27 August at around 15:30 BST to the incident on the A39 near Porlock.

The force said despite efforts of the public and emergency services who administered first aid, the man died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and police thanked those who stopped to help, who were supported by trained officers.

Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, to get in touch.
