A new £200,000 fund has been set up to help improve high streets and rejuvenate communities.

The money is available to businesses, community groups and parish councils across South Cambridgeshire.

The scheme aims to improve the look of high streets, encourage people to shop locally and bring in more trade.

Possible uses include street art, pop-up events and renovating shop fronts.

It is organised by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and South Cambridgeshire District Council will handle the grant applications.

Councillor Peter McDonald, cabinet member for economic development, said: “As a council we are committed to breathing new life into our high streets.

"This rejuvenation is not just about revitalizing storefronts, it's about building a stronger, more resilient local economy that reflects the heart of our community."

Applications can be made on a dedicated web page, external.

The first period of applications is open now until November 10. The scheme is part of the government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
