Some Jersey Bulls fans said they were "disappointed" but others were "super positive" after the final game of the team's season on Saturday at Springfield Stadium.

The Combined Counties Premier South announced the club had been docked three points the night before the match against Sandhurst for fielding an ineligible player in March.

The deduction dropped Elliot Powell's side from first to third where the club remained despite beating their visiting opponents 1-0.

If they do not appeal the decision, or an appeal is unsuccessful, they will finish the season in third place.

Ms Erwin added: "There's nothing you can do and we've just got to get past it now."

The Combined Counties Premier South said it was unable to make its decision until the County Football Association (CFA) completed its decision which was made on the 14 April.

It said it then fast-tracked its process to deduct the points on Friday.
