A cathedral's fundraising team has said it was "overwhelmed" after supporters helped it reach the halfway point in an urgent appeal to secure its future.
Peterborough Cathedral launched a £300,000 campaign in January, saying it needed the public's help by the end of March to remain open seven days a week.
By the end of last month, it had raised £100,000, and on Friday it announced it had hit £150,000.
"Your generosity is helping to secure a lasting legacy for Peterborough Cathedral; we offer our deepest gratitude to everyone who has made this achievement possible, " said Anna Bentley, head of fundraising.
"We are overwhelmed by the kindness and commitment of our supporters."
The Cathedral in Crisis Campaign aims to preserve Peterborough Cathedral as a hub of worship and culture in the city, the cathedral said.
