Motorcyclist dies in A30 crash near Penzance

A motorcyclist has died in a single-vehicle collision on the A30 near Penzance, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the victim, a 36-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene about 02:35 GMT on Friday.

The road, at Eastern Green, was closed for several hours whilst the investigation took place and was reopened at around 11:05.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which involved a white Honda motorbike, and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the incident and carried out a detailed investigation at the scene.

The motorcyclist's next of kin have been informed, police said.
