Motorcyclist taken to hospital after A61 collision

A motorcyclist has been injured in a road traffic collision in North Yorkshire.

The crash happened at 19:04 BST on Monday on the A61 near Bishop Monkton, between Ripon and Harrogate.

A silver Triumph motorcycle and a black Ford Fiesta were involved, North Yorkshire Police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in Harrogate for treatment, while the driver of the Fiesta sustained minor injuries.

The road was initially closed and drivers were urged to avoid the area while emergency services attended the scene, though it was subsequently reopened.

Officers have asked anyone with information about the collision to come forward.
