A pedestrian in her 80s suffered injuries when she was hit by a car.

The woman was taken to hospital following the collision in Balderton, near Newark, at about 16:50 GMT on Monday, said Nottinghamshire Police.

Officers said the driver of the car had been spoken to but no arrests had been made and an investigation was under way.

London Road was closed in both directions at the time of the incident and into the evening, said the force, as well as Hawton Lane.

Both have since reopened according to travel service Inrix.
