A man and a woman who are accused of murdering a "respected" professional model have appeared in court.
Luke Harden, 36, died on Newchurch Road in Bacup shortly after midnight on Saturday after paramedics were unable to resuscitate him, Lancashire Police said.
Preston Crown Court heard the preliminary pathology report said Mr Harden had suffered severe head injuries.
Bhekisani Matabiswana, 26, of St James Street, Bacup, and Natalie Chadwick, 27, of Hammerton Green in the town, appeared by videolink. They did not enter a plea and were remanded into custody to appear at the same court on 15 December.
In a family tribute, Mr Harden's relatives previously said he was "loved by everyone who met him".
Manchester-based Nemesis Model Agency said he was "respected by everyone who worked with him."
