'Blue Ball Dip' for male cancer charity

The Hornsea Dolphins will take part in a cold-water dip on 2 March

An all-female swimming group is inviting men to join them for a "Blue Ball Dip" for charity.

The Hornsea Dolphins were formed to help women "find fun and friendship in the water".

They will stage the mixed-gender swim on 2 March to raise money for Orchid, a charity that supports research into male cancers.

Fancy dress, including blue outfits, is encouraged and the women are employing the slogan: "Can you handle it, fellas?"

The Dolphins came up with the idea as a way to give back to the men who have supported them over the years.

Beverley Male Voice Choir and The Shanty Lasses will be providing entertainment.

There will also be a lifeboat on the water and a fire engine and crew in support.

Participants are due to meet at the Floral Hall beach, Hornsea, at 10:30 GMT, before the dip at 11:00.
