Police are searching for a man after a 15-year-old teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus.

The teenager was sat at a bus stop on Clarence Street in Gloucester at 21:00 GMT on 7 December when a man approached her and got on the number one bus heading towards Matson.

The man sat next to the girl and sexually assaulted her by rubbing her leg and kissing her hand without consent.

He then remarked on the 15-year-old girl's physical appearance and said that she should go home with him.

Another passenger on the bus, a woman, noticed what was happening and made sure the girl got off the bus and to a place of safety.

Gloucestershire Police are looking for the woman who helped the girl to come forward.

The man was described as being white, aged in his 60s, around 5ft 9ins tall, of a slim build, had a grey buzz cut and spoke with a Gloucester accent.

He was wearing gold-framed glasses which had foggy lenses, a black coat and was carrying a brown bag which had chips inside.
