Fifty two people have reported being unwell with suspected food poisoning from a hotel.
An environmental health team, and Public Health Wales, have been investigating cases linked to the Cwrt Henllys Hotel in Cwmbran, Torfaen, which could also have been caused by a virus.
Torfaen council said it does not believe that anyone has required hospital treatment.
The general manager at the hotel said they were "devastated" by the reports of illness and worked "quickly" to find answers.
People started to become unwell the day after visiting the Cwrt Henllys Hotel for a carvery on 5 October.
Although the illness is being treated as suspected food poisoning, the cause has not been confirmed and testing is ongoing to see if the illness was linked to food or another factor such as an airborne virus.
The general manager said some staff members at the hotel had also become unwell despite the fact they had not eaten any of the food prepared that day.
The hotel said it has complied at all times with environmental health regulations and one issue, linked to the cooling of food, has since been rectified.
The general manager stressed that at no point has the hotel been advised to close the kitchen.
Public Health Wales said it was providing advice and support and that there was no wider public health risk.
