The commanding officer of RNAS Culdrose has paid tribute to Samuel Vass, a 22-year-old engineer who died in a car accident.

Capt James Hall said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of Air Engineer Technician Samuel Vass who sadly died following a collision near Culdrose on Saturday.

"We also extend those thoughts to anyone else who was involved or impacted by the collision as well as their friends and family."

Two other people were taken to hospital following the crash on Saturday.

Capt Hall thanked the emergency services and those from the air station who responded to the incident.
