The wife and daughter of a motorcyclist who died in a crash say they have been left "shattered".

Pawel Dlugosz, 49, died in a collision on the A525 Ruthin Road near Bwlchgwyn, Wrexham, at about 10:00 BST on 24 August.

In a tribute, his family said "our hearts are truly broken beyond words", adding: "He was the light of our lives, a devoted husband and an extraordinary father who gave us endless love, laughter, and strength. To us, he was everything."

A police investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Mr Dlugosz lived in St Helens, Merseyside, and "was the man who always looked out for others, who never hesitated to help, and who made people feel safe and cared for," said his family.

"Paweł loved life in all its colours. He felt most at peace in nature, whether it was camping under the stars, hiking new trails, or riding his beloved motorcycles.

"He filled our days with music and joy. That was who he was – a man who carried love and laughter everywhere he went."

Mr Dlugosz's family said his death had left them "shattered in ways we cannot describe" but added there was "comfort in knowing you left this world doing what you loved".

"You lived your life like you rode your bike, free, fearless, and full of passion," the tribute said. "Every roar of an engine, every stretch of open road, will always remind us of you. You were our hero, our guide, and our greatest adventure."

The family thanked the pedestrians who stopped and attempted CPR on Mr Dlugosz "from the bottom of our hearts", as well as his "fellow riders" who helped.

The family asked that any witnesses to the incident come forward to police to "help us find answers in this devastating time".

They said: "Ride free now, dad. Until we meet again."
