A man killed at a Birmingham industrial estate was shot twice in the head, a court heard.
Gavin Parry's body was discovered at the site in Western Road on13 April 2021. He was wearing a bullet proof vest underneath a jacket which had two live rounds of aummunition in the pocket while two burner phones and an iPhone were found on the 31-year-old, a jury heard.
Birmingham Crown Court heard how Mr Parry had a sten machine gun on him at the time of the shooting. Both bullets were lodged inside his head, killing him instantly.
Remell Bailey and Dante Kalis, both 28 and from Birmingham, deny murder. They also deny an alternative charge of manslaughter as well as perverting the course of justice.
Simon Denison KC, prosecuting, told jurors Mr Kalis, who had been living in Erdington at the time, was "heavily involved in firearms".
The court heard that two weeks before the fatal shooting of Mr Parry, Mr Kalis was "involved in an altercation" where two men were shot.
Mr Denison acknowledged his previous involvment did not mean he was involved in the shooting of Mr Parry but his "past willingness" to shoot could be evidence.
Mr Bailey had been living in Handsworth at the time of the shooting.
The trial continues.
